At Kristin Kavanagh Interiors, we believe homes are meant to be lived in, loved, and layered with meaning. Whether it’s a new build, a renovation, or a single-room refresh, our collaborative approach ensures each home is a true reflection of the people who live there. Every finish, fabric, and found treasure plays its part in that story.

Meet Kristin 

I’m a passionate designer, a bit of a perfectionist, and my clients quickly become friends. My approach is rooted in warmth, balance and touch of spontaneity, creating homes that feel timeless, personal, and genuinely lived in. Because homes shouldn’t feel like museums; they should reflect real life (dog hair, snack crumbs, and all).

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, I now call the North Shore of Chicago home where I live with my husband, our three children, and two dogs. That’s five humans, two canines, and endless chaos - the perfect testing ground for real-life design.

I launched Kristin Kavanagh Interiors in 2023 after making a career switch that finally felt like home.

I wanted to do work that mattered, something tangible, personal, and lasting. Designing someone’s home is exactly that; it’s what they touch, feel, and live with every day. To play even a small part in shaping that experience is something I don’t take lightly, and I’m deeply honored every time someone opens their door and invites me in.

When I’m not designing, you’ll find me near the lake, needlepointing (with questionable progress), or running my kids from one activity to the next. I love any excuse to plan our next adventure - ideally somewhere with sunshine, good food, and family close by.
