HI, I’m KRISTIN KAVANAGH

Let's get one thing straight: I take your home as seriously as you do. But I also believe the process should be fun.

After years in the corporate world, I launched Kristin Kavanagh Interiors in 2023 but brought the spreadsheets with me. My corporate background wasn't a detour. It's the reason your project stays on track, on budget and on time. Clear communication, organized timelines, no guessing what's happening next.

But here's the thing: process without personality is just project management. My approach is rooted in warmth, balance and a touch of spontaneity, creating spaces that are beautiful yet functional, thoughtful and fit for everyday living. Because homes shouldn't feel like museums; they should reflect real life (dog hair, snack crumbs and all).

You have great taste. You just need someone organized and honest to pull it all together, keep things moving and make the whole experience actually enjoyable.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, I now call the North Shore of Chicago home where I live with my husband, our three children and two dogs. That’s five humans, two canines and endless chaos - the perfect testing ground for real-life design.

When I’m not designing, you’ll find me near the lake, needlepointing (with questionable progress), or running my kids from one activity to the next. I love any excuse to plan our next adventure - ideally somewhere with sunshine, good food and family close by.
